The Saison is a traditional farmhouse ale hailing from the French-speaking regions of Belgium. It is characterized by its dry, effervescent nature and its complex flavor profile. This recipe exhibits a combination of fruity and spicy aromas, with notes of citrus, pear, pepper, and clove. The beer's yeast strain contributes to its distinct character, often imparting a slight tartness and a rustic, earthy quality. These beers were historically brewed during the cooler months and served to refresh farmworkers during the summer harvest season.

The brew process involves dissolving malt extract into heated water, steeping bags of milled grain (if applicable), boiling and/or steeping bags of hop pellets, and cooling the wort (unfermented beer) in a sink to be added to your fermentation vessel. The wort is then topped off with chilled water for an even faster cool, and the yeast is added. All this including cleanup takes just 1 hour!
