New England IPAs are characterized by hazy appearance, juicy flavor, and low bitterness. They feature hops that impart fruity flavors, and are dry-hopped* (adding hops directly to the fermenter rather than the boil) to enhance the hop aroma.
This particular NEIPA is typically golden or orange in color, and it has a thick, creamy head. The aroma is intense and fruity, with notes of peach, mango, and citrus. The flavor is juicy and refreshing, with a smooth, full-bodied mouthfeel. A great choice for people who enjoy hoppy beers, but don't like the high bitterness of traditional IPAs.
*Dry-hopping is a delicate process, with a risk of oxidation (exposure of beer to oxygen which results in a cardboard off-flavor and browning in color). As such, unless great care is taken this recipe is not recommended for first-time brewers.
