Briess Roasted Barley is a heavily roasted unmalted barley. It will produce flavors of intense coffee and chocolate as well as a general sharp, dry bitterness. Roasted Barley will contribute deep brown color to a wort. It is frequently used in combination with a black or chocolate malt to modulate its harsher flavors.
