If you're new to brewing you'll soon learn that healthy yeast makes better beer. The best place to start with making healthy yeast is to build up their numbers. This compact stir plate works with Erlenmeyer flasks up to 5000mL in size. Depending on the volume of your yeast starter, you can use the adjustment knob to dial in the speed of the stir bar. We recommend using just enough power to keep yeast in suspension, a full vortex isn't really necessary.
