The Brew Log - June 2019

Issue 4

Thanks To Girls Pint Out For Hosting Their Event At Gnome Brew

We had a great time hosting the event. So much good beer at the bottle share portion (seems to be coconut beer season). And we had fun making an Old School West Coast Style IPA.

If you're looking for a fun and unique venue for a birthday, bachelor/ette party, or company activity, contact us for rates and details. All events are BYOB, and we also provide plenty of house beer samples.

Bottle Share on June 13th

Come out for our monthly bottle share on Thursday, June 13 at 7:15 PM. We had a great turn out last month, lots of fun, and lots of great beer!

Just bring a bottle or two of your homebrewed to share with others. If you're new to homebrewing or just don't have any spare bottles, don't worry--you're welcome to come.

Bottle shares are a great opporunity to try others' homebrews, get feedback on your own homebrew, and trade tips, tricks and stories. But mostly, it's a time to hang out and have fun with fellow beer lovers.

Reservations aren't necessary, but we'd appreciate your letting us know you're coming on on facebook or by emailing us.

This is a free event.

New Malts and Fruit Purees

Simpson's Double Roasted Crystal, Weyermann CaraHell and Fruit Purees

Simpson's Double Roasted Crystal is one of my favorite caramel malts. It is a fairly recent release from Simpsons and, at 110˚ Lovibond, it has a unique soft, sweet caramel flavor with raisons and other dried fruit. It's a great choice for Belgian Trappist styles as well as robust dark beers.

CaraHell is a 10˚ Lovibond caramel malt from Weyermann. This is a classic choice for german pale lagers and hefeweizens.

We've also introduced a line of fruit purees. We currently have Apricot, Blackberry, Blueberry, Tart Cherry, Peach and Strawberry, with more to come next week.

You can find our complete ingredient listing of our ingredients on the brewing ingredients page on our website.

Recipe Builder Is Coming!

Convenient Ordering Is Almost Here

We're almost ready to launch our recipe builder!

This feature allows you to order your recipe from home, work or on the train using our real-time inventory. We'll put together your ingredients, mill your grains, and have it ready to pick up at your convenience.

If you prefer to put your recipe together in person at the shop, you can still use the tool to check our selection of ingredients when you're writing your recipe.

And for even more convenience, later this summer we'll be rolling out a same day delivery option. If you're too busy to come by the store, we'll offer same day delivery on select days in select zip codes.
