Come out for our monthly bottle share on Thursday, May 9th at 7:15 PM. We had a great turn out last month, lots of fun, and lots of great beer!
Just bring a bottle or two of your homebrew to share with others. If you're new to homebrewing or just don't have any spare bottles, don't worry--you're welcome to come.
Bottle shares are a great opporunity to try others' homebrews, get feedback on your own homebrew, and trade tips, tricks and stories. But mostly, it's a time to hang out and have fun with fellow beer lovers.
Reservations aren't necessary, but we'd appreciate your letting us know you're coming on on facebook or by emailing us.
This is a free event.
We've stocked Amarillo and Centential to give you a selection of 8 CryoLupuLN2 Hops to use to make your Pale Ales and IPAs pop with bright hop aromatics and flavor. If you're not familiar with Cryo hops, they are made by separating the hop lupulin, which contains the resins and oils, from the vegetative matter at a low temperature to preserve delicate aroma and flavor compounds. Per ounce they contain about twice as much flavor and aroma oils. This allows you to pack in more hops with less vegetative flavor and wort loss.
We've also added Spalt hops to our collection. This hop is named for the Spalt region of Germany where it is grown. With its earthy and spicy character, it's a great noble hop choice for any German ale or lager.
This is a European style malt from Briess that adds an itense maltiness to your beer. Aromatic Malt is similar to Munich Malt, but more intense, and can be used for up to 10% of your malt bill in any beer that benefits for increased malty aroma and flavor.
Also known as Dinkelmalz, this new addition comes from German Maltster Bestmalz. Spelt is an ancient grain that was the primary malt for brewing thousands of years ago. Its nutty, toasty and rustic character is perfect for saisons and farmhouse beers.

If you're not an American Homebrewers Association member... well, you should be. The AHA fought to make homebrew legal in all 50 states, with Alabama finally coming on board only in 2013! And they're still working to ensure we can responsibly enjoy our homebrew at home, at club meetings, at competitions and other events legally as well as hosting numerous events including Homebrew Con for AHA members only.
The AHA also publishes Zymurgy, the best homebrew magazine packed with info, tips and recipes. And, the subscription comes with your AHA membership!
If you activate your membership anytime in May, you'll also get the amazing Yeast book for free.
We've added two more Brewing Beer in 1 Hour Classes. If you're interested, make sure to sign up now--our last class sold out.
This class is great for you or someone you know who is interested in learning more about beer and homebrew but may not be ready to commit to too much time or equipment. During this two hour class, participants will help brew a batch of beer, learn about beer ingredients and styles, and sample homebrewed beers.
Cost is $30, and participants can come pick up beer they brewed in class when it's ready to drink.
We have a lot of plans for making Gnome Brew the best homebrew store and your home for homebrew. Here are a few things in the works:
