We can't believe it's been over a month since our Opening! We've already added new malts, hops and yeast; added to our Brewing Basics program; had a sold out class; helped get new homebrewers started in this great hobby; hosted a homebrew club meeting; met a ton of new customers; and, most importantly, spent time sharing some homebrew and talking about beer and brewing.
We're looking forward to the next month, and we have a lot of plans. We're adding more classes, hosting our first bottle share, adding more ingredients to our inventory, and planning more events and services to make Gnome Brew the best homebrew store.
We had a fun time hosting the Evanston Homebrew Club at Gnome Brew. It was great to meet the members and hang out. Thanks for bringing some excellent homebrews!
Everyone is invited to join us Thursday, April 11th at 7:15 PM for the first of our monthly bottle shares. Just bring a bottle or two of your homebrew to share with others. If you're new to homebrewing or just don't have any spare bottles, don't worry--you're welcome to come.
Bottle shares are a great opporunity to try others' homebrews, get feedback on your own homebrew, and trade tips, tricks and stories. But mostly, it's a time to hangout and have fun with fellow beer lovers.
Reservations aren't necessary, but we'd appreciate your letting us know you're coming on on facebook or by emailing us.
This is a free event.
We're pleased to announce the addition of two more ingredients to the Gnome Brew Brewing Basics program. We've added Caramel 40 to our selection of malts and adjuncts, giving you 14 guaranteed choices for your recipes. And with the addition of 1 oz. Amarillo pellets, we have 8 varietes of hops you can count on always being available.
Look for more malts, hops and yeast to be added soon.
You can find out more about the program and see a complete current listing on the Brewing Basics page.
We've got a load of brand new filled CO2 tanks available. Bring in your empty tank and pick up a filled tank. It's that easy.
If your tank hasn't been pressure tested in over 5 years, an additional fee will apply (the testing month and date is etched just below the neck of your tank). Gnome Brew marked tanks will always be exempt from the testing fee.
We've added two more Brewing Beer in 1 Hour Classes. If you're interested, make sure to sign up now--our last class sold out.
This class is great for you or someone you know who is interested in learning more about beer and homebrew but may not be ready to commit to too much time or equipment. During this two hour class, participants will help brew a batch of beer, learn about beer ingredients and styles, and sample homebrewed beers.
Cost is $30, and participants can come pick up beer they brewed in class when it's ready to drink.
We have a lot of plans for making Gnome Brew the best homebrew store and your home for homebrew. Here's a few things in the works:
